Custom firmware and region-free play

This console has custom firmware installed. This is an unofficial modification of the system software. It is not made, approved or supported by Nintendo, and region-free play is not an official Nintendo feature.

• Region-free: it can play compatible Nintendo 3DS game cards from other regions, such as Japanese or US releases, as well as European ones.
• Nintendo DS games: most DS game cards also work.
• 2D only: the 2DS family has no 3D screen, so 3DS games play in 2D.
• Not every game is guaranteed to work. Compatibility can vary from title to title.
• Online services: Nintendo online features such as online play, system updates and the eShop are not guaranteed.
• Please don't install official Nintendo system updates, as they can interfere with the custom firmware.
